Introducing Allen Chiropractor Dr. Larry Eckhardt

Dr. Larry Eckhardt"After finishing a bachelor degree at the University of Dallas, I started nursing school and came to feel that there was a fundamental difference between the idea that the body has an innate ability to heal and the idea that we must put dangerous drugs in it and cut parts out of it to heal. The medical realm was not for me. Later, when chiropractic helped me so much with my own health, the idea of simply removing the blockages to the body’s innate ability to heal really made sense to me."

"I earned the Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas in January, 1990. Since then I served as a professor of chiropractic at Parker for 14 years teaching courses as diverse as chiropractic technique, diagnosis, and most recently gross anatomy and clinical biomechanics."

"When you think about it, stress is the cause of almost all human illnesses. Physical stress is what we call trauma. Chemical stress comes from toxins and pollution in our food, air and water. Emotional or mental stress can cause such varied problems as test anxiety, digestive dysfunction and ulcers.

Our focus at Innate Health is to relieve stress! By aligning the joints with chiropractic adjustments and aligning the muscles with massage therapy the physical stresses are minimized. By recommending nutritional interventions the chemical stresses are minimized. Even emotional stresses can be addressed with special techniques.

Obviously it is impossible to completely eliminate the stress of modern life. By eliminating the stresses that we can eliminate, greater reserves are available for the body to adapt to new stress. In this way, we can maintain a much higher state of health and wellness."

"On a personal note, Jo Ann and I have been married since 1977. We have two children. Katy and her husband Craig live in Houston and have two children of their own. My son Kevin has finished his studies in English at the University of North Texas.

Before I became a chiropractor, I was a flight instructor and still instruct in my spare time. In fact, I have been teaching flying since 1976 and currently teach a Private Pilot Ground School at Collin County Community College as well."

"Thanks for visiting our site. I look forward to meeting you in person to discuss your specific health challenge. Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health."

Dr. Eckhardt Asks some important questions of interest to Allen residents - Chiropractor Allen Dr. Eckhardt Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
